USA sells 64.6 thousand tons of the 2023/24 soybean meal harvest in the week

By Ana Ritti, with information from Dow Jones Newswires São Paulo, 11/30/2023 - United States exporters reported sales of 64.6 thousand tons of soybean meal from the 2023/24 harvest, in the week ending November 23, the country's Department of Agriculture reported this Friday (USDA). The volume represents a loss of 68% compared to the previous week and a decline of 59% compared to the average of the previous four weeks. The main buyers were Colombia (30 thousand t), Mexico (17.6 thousand t) Guatemala (11.4 thousand t), Canada (6.9 thousand t) and Japan (6.1 thousand t), which compensated for cancellations of El Salvador (11.1 thousand t), Honduras (6.3 thousand t) and Panama (1.1 thousand t). For the 2024/25 business year, no sales or cancellations were reported. The total sold was below analysts' estimates, which ranged from sales of 150 thousand tons to 350 thousand tons.
