Brazil expands export of animal genetic material to Paraguay

The Brazilian government was pleased to learn of the opening of the Paraguayan market for exports of goat and sheep semen and embryos. Negotiations began in March of this year and the approval of the International Health Certificate, which allows the export of products, was completed in November, with the publication of zoosanitary requirements by the Paraguayan health authority. According to the document, handling, loading and transport conditions comply with internationally recommended hygienic-sanitary standards, which ensure the necessary care is taken to avoid contact of products with any potential source of contamination. According to Brazilian government metrics, Brazilian exports of animal genetic material – excluding genetic material of bovine origin – totaled USD 825.2 thousand from January to October this year.
