The Brazilian government is praising the decision of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to simplify exports of cocoa beans from Brazil to the union's member countries: Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. This is part of a broader improvement in trade relations between Brazil and the EAEU, which has already authorized the export of several other products in 2024. In the first eight months of 2024, Brazil exported over US$865 million in agricultural products to the EAEU, with key exports being soybeans, beef, green coffee, and raw sugar. This move is part of Brazil's strategy to expand its market reach, with a total of 253 market openings in 60 destinations since the beginning of the year.
