Brazilian rice exports in August reached 164.4 thousand tons, generating US$ 66.2 million in revenue, marking a 41.5% drop in volume and a 32% drop in revenue compared to the same month the previous year, according to the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz). The majority of the exported rice was milled, totaling 103.5 thousand tons and bringing in US$ 36.8 million. The main destinations for the processed rice included Senegal, Gambia, and the United States. Brazil also imported 136.5 thousand tons of rice, spending US$ 64.7 million.
