Brazil opens Gabon market for cattle and buffaloes for breeding

The health authority of Gabon, a West African country, approved the International Zoosanitary Certificate (CZI) for the export of cattle and buffaloes for breeding from Brazil. This achievement represents a significant milestone for Brazilian agribusiness, further strengthening the country's presence in the global meat market. In 2023, Gabon imported more than US$46 million in Brazilian agribusiness products, with the meat sector responsible for 85% of these exports. The approval of the CZI for cattle and buffaloes should further expand this commercial relationship, offering new opportunities for Brazilian producers. With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness reached its 75th market opening this year, totaling 153 openings in 53 countries since the beginning of 2023.
