Brazil opens the market of Morocco, Iraq, and Singapore for hay and that of Argentina for onion bulbs

The Brazilian government concluded phytosanitary negotiations with Morocco, Iraq, and Singapore for the export of hay and with Argentina for onion bulbs, expanding access for agribusiness products, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced in a statement. Morocco, Iraq, and Singapore are expected to use Brazilian hay for animal feed, a strategic product for livestock chains that depend on a regular supply of forage. In 2024, Brazil's exports to these three markets totaled around US$ 3.8 billion, with Iraq being the main buyer, accounting for US$ 1.78 billion of that total. Argentina imported over US$ 1.5 billion in Brazilian agribusiness products this year, with a focus on cocoa and derivatives, coffee, and meats. With these announcements, the Brazilian agribusiness sector reaches 525 market openings since the beginning of 2023, according to the statement.
