The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in Brazil has received authorization to export poultry meat to Bosnia and Herzegovina, opening up a new market for Brazilian poultry products. This is due to the government's confidence in Brazil's health control system. The Bosnian market is seen as a significant opportunity for Brazilian exporters, with high demand for quality poultry products and a need to supplement local production. Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a population of 3.2 million, has one of the highest chicken meat consumptions in the region at 19.7 kilos per person per year. Since 2023, Brazil has opened 282 markets in 62 destinations, including this one, making it the third largest producer and the largest exporter of chicken meat globally.
