Brazil is planning to export sorghum to China and is in the process of finalizing an export protocol, which is expected to be completed by November. A mission from Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture is set to visit China next month to discuss the export and other issues. The president of the Brazilian Association of Corn and Sorghum Producers (Abramilho), Paulo Bertolini, stated that the opening of new international markets is a priority for the entity as sorghum production in Brazil is still timid. Brazil is also looking to increase the industrial use of sorghum, especially in ethanol plants, and the crop is more resistant and less demanding in terms of management.
