About to conclude his tenure at the helm of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Director General Manuel Otero shares his perspectives on Brazil. For him, the country will continue as an agro-food powerhouse and a benchmark in sustainable agriculture. “Brazil may be the most important player in the agricultural universe of the Americas,” he states. The statement to Rural Channel precedes the Conference of Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas, which takes place in Brasília from November 3 to 5. According to the IICA Director General, the opportunity is unique, as the meeting should bring together around 25 ministers and deputy ministers of Agriculture, something that does not happen in other meetings of this type.
