Brazil received sanitary authorization to export live sheep to Algeria, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) reported this Tuesday (19). With around 46 million inhabitants, the North African country has been strengthening trade relations with Brazil in recent years. According to Mapa, in 2021, Algerians received around US$ 1.3 billion in Brazilian agribusiness products. In 2024, shipments exceeded US$ 2.2 billion, a 69% growth in three years. Among the main national products acquired by Algeria are sugar and alcohol complex goods and soybeans, as well as cereals, flours, and preparations.
