The survey details that silviculture, which includes production from planted forests, accounts for 84.1% of the total, with R$ 37.2 billion, while plant extraction, linked to natural areas, represents 15.9%, which amounts to R$ 7 billion. "Much of the extraction is authorized," explains Carlos Alfredo Barreto Guedes, IBGE's Agriculture Manager. Almost 5,000 municipalities registered forest production in 2024. The South and Southeast regions concentrate 65.7% of the total. Minas Gerais leads among the states, with R$ 8.5 billion, followed by Paraná, with R$ 6.3 billion.
