Brazilian fruit exports experienced a significant increase in value traded from January to August 2024, despite a slight drop in volume due to adverse weather conditions. The total value of fruit exports rose by 8.51% compared to the same period in 2023, as reported by AgroStat/Mapa. Mangoes and lemons led the growth in value, with mangoes showing a 46.19% increase and lemons and limes a 14.52% increase. The melon market also performed well, with a 7.72% increase in value and a 12.92% increase in volume. However, grapes faced sharp drops in export volume due to excessive rainfall. Overall, the Brazilian fresh fruit sector remains competitive and resilient, adapting to production challenges and driven by demand for tropical fruits.
