The UK fishing industry has secured access to over 2,200 metric tons of fishing opportunities in Faroese waters for 2024, as part of annual negotiations between the UK and Faroe Islands. The agreement includes quotas for various species including cod, haddock, saithe, redfish, ling, flatfish, among others. This follows the UK's negotiations with the EU and Norway, which provided access to 420,000 MT of fishing opportunities. In exchange, the UK has transferred some key stocks to the Faroes, including Greenland halibut and haddock.
