The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has announced a successful completion of the cereal crop harvesting season, with buckwheat harvest reaching 1.2 million tons, a 39% increase from the previous year. The yield also increased by 14% with an average of 11.3 q/ha. The leading regions for buckwheat growth include the Altai Territory, the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Kursk, Voronezh and Oryol regions. This harvest has surpassed the 2021 final gross harvest, ensuring full loading of processing enterprises and expanding export opportunities. The Ministry is continuing efforts to increase the sown area under cereal crops and is considering modern technologies, mineral fertilizers, and highly productive seeds. Russian buckwheat exporters are considering new markets due to the current international situation.
