The article highlights a collaborative effort by various organizations to enhance the sustainability and inclusivity of the sesame value chain in Burkina Faso, focusing on the poor central-eastern region. This initiative, funded by the Belgian development agency, Enabel, aims to boost the professionalism of 154 farmers' organizations and agribusinesses, thereby increasing their competitiveness and access to fair trade practices. The project uses the Link Methodology to devise inclusive business strategies with buyer companies, providing capacity building in governance, management, and quality standards. A notable B2B meeting in Koupéla led to the establishment of formal sales agreements, demonstrating significant progress towards sustainable and profitable trade for local farmers.
