Bulgaria's cabinet has approved its stance for the upcoming Council of the European Union on Agriculture and Fisheries meeting on November 18 in Brussels. The meeting will focus on the agricultural market disruptions resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Bulgaria will bring attention to the challenges local farmers face due to increased imports from Ukraine, particularly eggs and honey. The country will propose protective measures under the ATM Regulation due to the impact of cheap Ukrainian honey on local prices. In fisheries, Bulgaria supports the European Commission's proposal for 2025 fishing opportunities in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, citing alignment with scientific advice and considerate of the industry's socio-economic needs.
