Impressive growth picture According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Processors and Exporters (VASEP), in the early months of 2025, Vietnam's tilapia exports grew by 174% compared to the same period last year and reached the highest level in the past 5 years. Specifically, ordinary tilapia products (excluding red tilapia) reached over 52 million USD, an increase of nearly 360%. The U.S. market is currently the main destination, accounting for over 60% of Vietnam's total tilapia export value, followed by the EU, Japan, and the Middle East. The decline in supply from China and Brazil due to disease outbreaks and high logistics costs has opened up opportunities for Vietnam to increase its market share.
