As of January 1, 2023, Kazakhstan had stocks of 15.77 million tons of grains and legumes, a decrease from 16.99 million tons as of December 1, 2022, according to the Bureau of National Statistics. The stocks included 12.64 million tons of food grains and 2.63 million tons of feed and seed grains. Wheat stocks decreased to 13.06 million tons, while corn, buckwheat, and millet stocks also decreased. Rice stocks increased to 262.67 thousand tons. The stocks were distributed among organizations engaged in crop production, flour-grinding industry, grain storage enterprises, and wholesale trade enterprises, with individual farms having 2.9 million tons of grain in stock.
