The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Cajamarca has started the construction of the qocha "El Totoral," located in the town of Cachur Alto, Cajabamba province. This water infrastructure will strengthen the sowing and harvesting of water, directly benefiting more than 120 families dedicated to agriculture and small livestock farming. The project includes the construction of a dam 10 meters high and 220 meters long, which will store 663 cubic meters of water, ensuring the availability of water resources throughout the year. Additionally, it includes the reforestation of 105 hectares of forests and the implementation of 24 hectares of silvopastures. During the ceremony for the laying of the first stone, the regional director of Agriculture, Ing. Néstor Mendoza Arroyo, highlighted that the work is aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change and expanding the irrigated agricultural frontier.
