The report indicates that the main export markets for Cambodian rice include Europe, China, and ASEAN countries. Among these, exports to European countries reached 201,000 tons, generating approximately $160 million; exports to China reached 106,000 tons, generating $62.13 million; and exports to 7 ASEAN countries reached 57,000 tons, generating $40.14 million.
Fragrant rice remains the main variety of Cambodian rice exports, accounting for 77.6% of the export volume. Due to its unique aroma and high-quality taste, this variety continues to be widely favored in the international market, with steadily increasing demand.
In addition to rice, Cambodia exported over 3.87 million tons of rice grains in the first seven months of this year, generating $910 million in foreign exchange.
According to statistics from the Rice Alliance, for the whole year of 2024, Cambodia's total rice exports are expected to be 652,000 tons, with a total export value of $490 million; rice grain exports are expected to be 5.18 million tons, generating $1.49 billion in foreign exchange.
