Heavy rainfall that covered western and central regions of Ukraine over the weekend halted rapeseed harvesting and heightened concerns about potential crop losses, leading to a new wave of price increases. The bill to introduce 10% export duties on rapeseed and soybeans has not yet been signed by the President, so traders hope it will not come into force on August 1, thus intensifying the purchase of rapeseed in hryvnia. Rapeseed purchase prices in Ukraine at the beginning of the week increased by 500-800 UAH/t to 23,800–24,500 UAH/t with delivery to the port, while processors kept their prices at 23,500-24,200 UAH/t with delivery to the plant. Meanwhile, traders increased the foreign currency demand prices for rapeseed in export contracts by 5-6 $/t to 545–550 $/t with delivery to Black Sea ports, so many farmers are actively contracting supplies.
