The Korea-Latin America Agricultural and Food Technology Cooperation Council (KoLFACI), run by the Rural Development Administration, has been recognized for its project developing drought-resistant kidney bean varieties in Central and South America. The initiative, which was selected as an excellent international development cooperation project in climate change adaptation food, aims to enhance food security and support farmers' income by conserving agricultural water and boosting kidney bean production. The project is particularly significant as kidney beans are a staple food in these regions, and small-scale farmers are increasingly affected by climate change and a lack of irrigation facilities.
