In the current year, cherries have become the record-holder for price increase among stone fruits compared to last year's level. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, citing data from the research company NTech as of the end of June – first week of July. During this time, the fruit has risen in price by 55 percent compared to the same period last year – from 365.5 to 563.3 rubles per kilogram. The previous price level was already the largest among other stone fruits. The price increase for other crops in this group was not as significant. For apricots, it was 8 percent (from 177.9 to 191.4), peaches – 7 percent (from 218.6 to 233.7), nectarines - 3 percent (from 187 to 192.3 respectively).
