The launch of this stage represents a significant advance for horticultural, forestry, and propagation material exports, as it will streamline border inspections, reduce errors, and strengthen the traceability of shipments to the Asian country. During this trial period, the SAG and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) will maintain the traditional issuance of paper certificates, but will also conduct electronic transmission tests to validate their operation and security. The goal is to finalize the official implementation of the completely paperless system in March 2026. With this advancement, Chile is moving towards the modernization and strengthening of its phytosanitary processes, promoting a more efficient and secure foreign trade.
