Rich in vitamin C and with digestive benefits, the kiwi has gained prominence after the pandemic, establishing itself as a highly valued functional food. Chile, one of the main exporters in the southern hemisphere, projects the export of 140,000 tons of kiwi by 2025, a figure lower than the 230,000 tons reached a decade ago due to the reduction of orchards caused by PSA and Moria. However, the international scenario offers opportunities, as in Europe—traditionally one of the most important markets—production has also been affected by these diseases, generating a lower global supply and opening space for Chilean fruit.
