A new report by IndexBox reveals that China is the world's largest consumer of chestnuts, accounting for 81% of the global market. The report also highlights Italy as the main importer of chestnuts worldwide, with Turkey, Portugal, and France showing the fastest growth in imports. In 2020, global chestnut imports dropped by 13.9%, with Italy being the largest market for imported chestnuts. The report also indicates that China is a major producer of chestnuts, with significant growth in consumption from 2012 to 2020.
