The Chinese authority, GACC, has suspended imports from the BPU plant in Uruguay due to a change in legal representation, a situation expected to be rectified in a week. The suspension is administrative and not sanitary-related. Meanwhile, three other Uruguayan plants have been authorized to export frozen bovine tripe to China. The GACC statement also suspends slaughterhouses in Canada and the Netherlands that produce pork. It stipulates that cooked meat imports from Brazilian plants must be from animals under 30 months old, and lists authorizations for meat products from several other countries.
