In the first three quarters of 2024, China witnessed a significant growth in its fruit exports, reaching 3.28 million metric tons valued at $3.99 billion, marking year-on-year increases of 44.14% and 29.51% respectively. Southeast Asian markets, especially Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Kyrgyzstan, were the primary recipients of these exports. The diversity of fruit exports to Vietnam included table grapes, other citrus fruits, fresh apples, and fresh pears. The success of China's fruit exports is attributed to factors such as tariff policies, price competitiveness, and logistical improvements, including the development of the China–Laos railway and the increased use of cold chain logistics technology.
