In the first three quarters of 2024, China experienced a slight decrease in fruit imports by 0.15%, but the import value increased by 1.7% to $14.34 billion, indicating a strong consumer demand for high-quality fruit. Durians continued to be the most imported fruit in both volume and value, primarily from Thailand and Vietnam, with cherries and kiwifruit also seeing increased imports. New Zealand remained the dominant supplier of kiwifruit, followed by Italy and Greece. From 2022 to 2024, Thailand, Chile, Vietnam, New Zealand, and the Philippines have been China's top five fruit suppliers in value, with Vietnam becoming the largest supplier by volume in the first three quarters of 2024.
