Farmers in the Ashanti Region are experiencing a decrease in crop yields due to the effects of climate change, with the Atwima Nwabiagya North District being severely impacted. This has led to calls for the government to implement measures to ensure food security and protect jobs in the agricultural sector. The Vegetable Farmers Association in Fufuo has requested to be included in the government's Planting for Food and Jobs project and is asking for the provision of modern irrigation systems to enable year-round farming.
