The agriculture and cooperatives policy and development committee in Thailand has added cocoa to the list of crops overseen by a sub-committee previously focused on horticultural crops like coffee, tea, pepper, and longan. This move aims to support farmers, promote the cultivation of cocoa, and address any issues related to the crop. The sub-committee will be restructured and will include representatives from the Marketing Organisation for Farmers (MOF). The decision comes in response to the growing global demand for cocoa, with the market value expected to surpass $20 billion by 2028.
