The National Supply Company (Conab) presented this Wednesday (22), in Porto Alegre, a set of measures to move around 630 thousand tons of rice from the 2024/25 harvest. The president of the state-owned company, Edegar Pretto, detailed the actions alongside representatives of the Federation of Rice Growers Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz) and the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz). The objective is to sustain market prices, guarantee income for producers, and encourage the continuation of cultivation. The planned investment is R$ 300 million, through the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM). "Conab is also concerned with encouraging the producer to continue planting rice.
