less than a month ago and has already left a million-dollar impact on the export business with the blocking of certificates and the imposition of additional restrictions by around thirty countries. This pathology, which is not transmitted to humans and only affects cattle, entered the province of Girona at the beginning of October. While the Government and the Generalitat are working hard to contain its spread, operators and authorities are also working at a commercial level to get third-party destinations to accept the regionalization of the health problem. This regionalization would allow areas of Spain free from the disease to operate normally to those destinations. At the moment, around thirty export certificates have been blocked to 22 countries and additional restrictions have been imposed by a dozen countries, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
