Corn and Soybean: Production Projections for the 2024/2025 Season USDA - April 2025

Here are the highlights of the latest cereal and oilseed estimates released by the USDA on April 10: Corn Production World corn production for the 2024/25 campaign would be around 1,215.1 million tonnes (Mt), down 1.2% compared to the 2023/24 cycle, whose latest estimate is 1,229.3 Mt. In the United States, production would reach 377.6 Mt, a drop of 3.1% compared to the previous season (389.7 Mt), while China would increase its harvest by 2.1%, to 294.9 Mt. The European Union, in turn, would fall 4.3%, to 59.3 Mt, while Ukraine, with 26.8 Mt, would record a drop of 17.5% compared to 32.5 Mt. consolidated in the previous cycle. In the case of Brazil, production would reach 126 Mt, which represents an increase of 5.9% compared to the 2023/24 season (119 Mt), while in Argentina the harvest would be around 50 Mt, a figure that would represent a decrease of 2.0% compared to the previous cycle (51 Mt).
