In the first half of 2021, Ukraine imported 92.0% of its grain seeds as corn, spending 23.6% of its total seed material purchase money on corn. The main suppliers of corn seeds were France, USA, Hungary, and Romania, with France being the largest supplier. Other countries like Slovakia, Serbia, Switzerland, Croatia, and Turkey also contributed to the corn seed imports. The imports of grain and oilseeds were 21.5 times higher than exports, indicating a significant reliance on foreign grain seeds.
