CRISIL MI&A Research has reported a decrease in the cost of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis in India during August 2024, when compared to the same period last year and the previous month. This decrease is attributed to a 51% drop in tomato prices and a 27% drop in LPG prices. However, the reduction in thali costs was partially balanced by an increase in the prices of onions and potatoes. The report also highlighted that non-veg consumption during the Shravan month in August led to a further decrease in broiler chicken prices.
