Haenam County (County Head Myeong Myeong-gwan) is focusing its administrative efforts to attract the rural basic income pilot program, scheduled for implementation next year to overcome the crisis of regional extinction. The rural basic income pilot program is set to be implemented in six regions selected from 69 county-level local governments across the country that are at risk of population extinction. The program, which targets all residents in the selected areas, will provide 150,000 won per month in regional love vouchers for two years, aiming to stabilize residents' lives, restore the community, and revitalize the local economy through a circular economy, beyond simple cash support. If Haenam County is selected, the funding will consist of 40% national funds, 24% provincial funds, and 3% county funds.
