On November 15, in Dak Lak province, the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association (VICOFA) in collaboration with the Trans-Pacific Partnership Company (TPP), the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), and the Dak Lak Import-Export Company (Simexco Daklak) organized a forum titled "Solutions for Promoting the Development of Vietnam's Robusta Coffee Brand and Directions for Developing Vietnam's Specialty Coffee." Vietnam's Robusta coffee remains 'unknown' Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, President of the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association (VICOFA), stated that the total area of coffee in Vietnam is approximately 730,000 hectares, of which 95% is planted with Robusta coffee (mainly grown in the 5 provinces of the former Central Highlands and some provinces in the Southeast). The remaining 5% is planted with Arabica coffee (catimo) grown in Lam Dong and some northern mountainous provinces (Son La, Dien Bien, Quang Tri) and some areas of Liberica/Excelsa coffee.
