Ukrainian producers have increased the selling prices for greenhouse cucumbers, making them twice as expensive as last year. The current price range is UAH 45-60/kg ($1.09-1.46/kg), a 12% increase from the previous week. The price hike is due to a limited supply, as open ground products are not available for sale, and not all greenhouse plants have collected the second crop of cucumbers due to bad weather. As a result, greenhouse cucumbers cost twice as much on average compared to the same period last year, and prices are expected to continue rising due to high demand.
