Cucumber prices suddenly started falling in Ukraine: how much does a kilogram cost now?

Selling prices for cucumbers in Ukraine have started to fall again. Sellers are forced to take such a step because the demand for this vegetable is very low, which is atypical for mid-December. Analysts of the EastFruit project noted that greenhouse cucumbers are being sold at 80-110 UAH/kg ($1.92-2.64/kg), which is on average 11% cheaper than a week earlier. It is noted that wholesale companies and retail chains are increasingly refusing large batches of greenhouse cucumbers due to low sales rates. As a result, significant volumes of unsold products have accumulated in warehouses, the quality of which is deteriorating. At the same time, greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are still 21% more expensive on average than last year. Market participants do not exclude that the growth in cucumber prices may resume next week.
