Cured ham exports grow by 15.2% in value in the first half of 2025

Cured ham exports have grown by 15.23% in value in the first half of the year, reaching 371 million euros in that period, and by 9.47% in volume, nearing 29,300 tons, according to data provided by the Consortium of Spanish Cured Ham (CJSE). The global average price per kilo of ham has grown by 5.26% during this period to stand at 12.66 euros compared to 2024, when it was 12.03 euros/kilo. Meanwhile, the average price in European Union countries stood at 11.87 euros, compared to 14.42 euros in Third Countries, representing an increase of 6.27% and 2.84% respectively. In global figures, European Union countries imported a total of 20,189 tons, increasing by 8.04% compared to the same period in 2024, while Third Countries registered a volume of 9,109 tons, that is, 12.77% more. Thus, during the first half of the year, the European Union accounted for 68.9% of cured ham exports, while 31.1% corresponds to Third Countries.
