Damyang County's (Mayor Kim Cheol-won) leading rice brand 'Daesop Maekneun Damyang Rice' has been selected as a supplier for Seoul's school meal service, and from next year, it will be responsible for providing healthy meals to students in elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul. Seoul City held a nationwide competition in October to select environmentally friendly agricultural products for school meal suppliers, and six companies, including the Damyang County Agricultural Cooperative Rice Corporation Joint Business Corporation, were finally selected. This selection was made through a rigorous process involving document review and on-site evaluation related to organic rice production and supply, and the selected companies will supply school meal rice to approximately 800,000 students in the Seoul area for three years from 2026 to 2028.
