Datagro: Brazil should export 39.3% of its beef production in 2026

By Leandro Silveira São Paulo, 09/17/2025 - Datagro estimates that 39.3% of the beef produced in the country in 2026 will be destined for other countries, an increase of 2.3 percentage points compared to 2025 and the highest in the current decade. The export participation this year will be 37.1%, up 2.5 points from 2024. The projections were presented during the Fórum Pecuária Brasil, held this Wednesday by the consultancy. Despite an expected reduction in the total volume of slaughter - from 40.8 million to 37.1 million heads between 2025 and 2026 - exports in carcass equivalent tons (TEC) will remain at a high level: 3.921 million TEC in 2025 and 3.847 million TEC in 2026. Another noteworthy figure is the percentage of slaughtered females, which is expected to reach 44.6% in 2025 - a sign of possible retention of breeding females for replenishment, which may indicate an expectation of appreciation or expansion of the herd in the medium term.
