The fishing ports in the Kingdom experienced a decline in the volume of unloaded coastal and traditional fishing products during the first eight months of the year, with a decrease of 16% compared to the same period in 2022. However, the financial value of these discharges increased slightly by 7%. Southern ports such as Boujdour, Dakhla, Tan Tan, and Laayoune also saw decreases in the quantities caught and unloaded, with Tan Tan experiencing the largest decline of 43%. Pelagic fish unloading also decreased in volume and financial value, with a decrease of 22% and 9% respectively.
