Spain: Delay in the harvesting of fruits and vegetables while 40% of the production is already stored due to the French blockade

The association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers-Exporters of the Region of Murcia (Proexport) estimates that forty percent of the production is being stored in the cold rooms of the companies as a result of the blockade encountered by transporters in France. At the same time, fruit and vegetable exporters have warned about the delay in the collection of fruits and vegetables scheduled for these dates, given the "lack of security" in transportation. The crops that are being stored the most are lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower, fresh products that must be consumed soon, Proexport warns on its official account on the X social network. The president of Proexport, Mariano Zapata, met at the San Esteban Palace with the regional president, Fernando López Miras, who considered "very serious" the consequences of the French strike for Murcian agriculture, while asking the central government to apply exceptional measures to compensate for losses.
