Due to a surge in Covid infections, China's lemon farmers, especially in the county of Anyue, Sichuan province, are experiencing a boom in sales as citizens seek out natural remedies, including vitamin C-rich lemons. Sales have risen from 5-6 tons to 20-30 tons per day, leading to a doubling of lemon prices in the past few days. Other fruits like oranges and pears, as well as canned yellow peaches, are also in high demand. This surge comes after farmers previously faced challenges with excess produce and falling prices due to strict virus curbs affecting transportation.
