Despite increasing oil and fertilizer prices, watermelon and cucumber cultivation continues in Sagaing Region, Myanmar. This is due to the relatively low cost of watermelon cultivation and the presence of last year's cucumber remnants and residual soil. However, farmers are not able to adjust the market and are currently relying on the local market. Watermelon and cucumber growers in the region require 855 varieties of watermelon and 211 varieties of cucumber, with the ivory variety being popular due to its weather-resistance and beauty.
