Detection of hygiene issues at a goat meat processor

Companies processing goat meat were found to have violated the Livestock Hygiene Management Act and the Food Hygiene Act. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 12th that from the 10th to the 28th of last month, they conducted a special inspection on 1035 companies (165 meat packaging and processing companies, 870 health food manufacturers and processors) in 17 local governments that produce goat-related products and found 9 companies violating relevant laws, requesting administrative action from the relevant authorities. The special inspection was conducted in anticipation of increased consumer interest in goat meat in the health food market, as a preemptive safety measure.
