Domestic prices for rapeseed in Ukraine are rising following sunflower prices, especially in light of a potential decrease in the soybean and sunflower harvest.

Prolonged rains have delayed the harvesting of sunflower and soybeans in Ukraine, leading to a rise in sunflower prices and increased demand for rapeseed by processors as an alternative raw material. The mechanism for the export of rapeseed and soybeans without paying duty has not yet been settled, so the export of rapeseed has not fully resumed, allowing processors to actively buy up available volumes. According to experts' forecasts, domestic processing of rapeseed this season will exceed 1 million tons, whereas in the 2024/25 MY, according to the association "Ukroliyaprom," only 0.5 million tons, or 14% of rapeseed production, were processed in Ukraine, and another 3.1 million tons were exported.
