Dried fruit exports have seen a significant increase, surpassing both the agricultural sector average and the general average, driven by a high demand for healthy snacks, particularly in the US. Turkey is a global leader in the exports of dried apricots, figs, and raisins, with exports exceeding $1.7 billion, a 15% increase from the previous season, despite a decrease in quantity. The average export price per ton has also increased due to a decrease in production caused by climate-related reasons. The Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters' Association uses special checks and analyses to separate aflatoxin-containing dried figs and exports the appropriate batches.
